Order a Paper Official Transcript

Paper Transcripts are free for current students.

  1. Log in to MyRED
  2. Select "Order Official Transcript" from the "Academics" tab.
  3. Select "Order Paper Transcript" on the left-hand side. This is mailed through U.S. Postal Service.
    • You cannot request any type of special handling through MyRED for a paper transcript such as separate sealed envelope, Federal Express or holds for grades/degrees. Requests can be completed through the transcript request form.
  4. If you select "Mail to Address" you can input those to whom you’re sending it. It will automatically populate your name. You can edit the name if you're not sending it to yourself.
  5. Once you've entered the address and confirmed that it's correct, you can select "Make a Request." You will receive a confirmation message. You will be notified by the Office of the University Registrar if there are any issues with processing your request or any additional information is needed.

Order an Electronic Official Transcript

  1. Log in to MyRED.
  2. Select "Order Official Transcript" from the "Academics" tab.
  3. Select "Order Electronic Transcript" on the right-hand side. This redirects you to the National Student Clearinghouse website.

Please resolve any holds that prevent the release of transcripts prior to ordering. You may view hold information in your MyRED account. If you're a current student waiting for your grades to be posted or your degree to be posted on your transcript, you can ask for it to be sent after final grades and/or degrees are posted. National Student Clearinghouse accepts any major credit or debit card if payment is needed.

You will be asked for your personal information, including your eight-digit NUID number or your social security number. Please be sure to completely fill out every field. If you are not currently enrolled at the University of Nebraska–Lincoln, select “No” and you will be asked for the dates of your attendance.

You’ll be asked how you want your transcript to be processed:

  • Current transcript—process as is.
  • After degree is awarded (current students only).
  • After grades are posted (current students only).

If selecting either of the second two options, they won't be released immediately. The release dates for the current term are listed on the first page when ordering. After the school processes your request, the recipient will be emailed a link to a secure internet page where they can retrieve the official transcript.

Enter the email address you want the transcript delivered to. Once you've confirmed the address, select "Add to Cart." Select "Add Recipient" if you need to send it to someone else. Before checking out, you'll need to sign a consent form using your finger or mouse. You can always return to this page and check on the status of your transcript by visiting MyRED or the National Student Clearinghouse website and selecting "View Transcript Order Status."
