Scholarships
At Nebraska, a diverse range of scholarships are available for students with different academic backgrounds and life experiences. You can filter by in-state, out-of-state, leadership, diversity, first-year and transfer. Select each scholarship to view the award, application criteria, deadlines, ACT/SAT scores, renewability and any other award criteria.
Specialized Scholarships
Specialized scholarship opportunities include Graduate Fellowships, ROTC Scholarships and scholarships from other funding agencies. Learn more about other scholarship opportunities and information on the scholarship search programs available to students.
External Scholarships
Scholarships are also available from private businesses, organizations, etc. that are external to Nebraska. The University of Nebraska–Lincoln does not determine eligibility for these scholarships or hold affiliation with any of the organizations.
How to Submit Your External Scholarship
- Complete the External Scholarship Check Form.
- Bring the completed form and scholarship check to Husker Hub.
- Or mail it to: Husker Hub, PO Box 880411, Lincoln, NE, 68588-0441.
- Report your scholarship in MyRED.
Grants
Grants are based on financial need, which is determined by your FAFSA Form, and do not require repayment.
Undergraduate grants include:
- Federal Pell Grant.
- Federal Supplemental Education Opportunity Grants (FSEOG).
- Teacher Education Assistance for College and Higher Education Grant (TEACH Grant).
- Additional Grants.
- Students who file their FAFSA Form by the UNL priority deadline may be eligible for additional grants offered on a first-come, first-served basis.

Supplemental Scholarship Application
The supplemental Scholarship Application is your key to maximizing your consideration for departmental scholarships as well as leadership and service scholarships. Your application questions will be customized based on your current declared degree program. Scholarship offers are selected by the academic departments. Availability of scholarships per department may vary.
Nebraska Promise
The Nebraska Promise is available to new, returning, full-time first-time, undergraduate Nebraska resident students with a family income of $65,000 or less and/or are Pell grant eligible for up to 30 credit hours of free tuition over an academic year. The Nebraska Promise covers undergraduate tuition costs after other grants and scholarships are taken into account. It picks up where other assistance ends and covers remaining tuition.
Summer Aid Application
Current undergraduate students can fill out the Summer Aid Application to be reviewed for summer aid. Summer is considered your last term in the academic year, so most student will have filed the FAFSA Form already. The last day to complete the FAFSA Form for summer aid each year is June 30.
