Direct Deposit for Parent Loans

Parent borrowers of Parent PLUS Loans have the option to sign up for direct deposit or refund.

If you, the parent, have already claimed your NUID credentials, you’ll receive an email with instructions on how to change your password with TrueYou and confirm your bank account information.

If you have not claimed your NUID credentials, you’ll receive two emails. The first will have your NUID number and instructions to claim, enroll in Two-Factor authentication (DUO) and enter your bank account information. The second will be your temporary TrueYou password and instructions on how to create your own password.


Claim Your Credentials on TrueYou

  1. Select the TrueYou Claim Account Link provided in the email.
  2. Enter your NUID and temporary password provided in the emails.
  3. Select the "Claim ID" button.
  4. Set Your Password and select "Submit" when finished.
  5. You will need to set up Two-Factor authentication using DUO by selecting "I agree."
  6. Install the DUO app and complete the enrollment process.

Direct Deposit 

If you have not yet entered a bank account in MyRED

  1. Select "Add" under the Direct Deposit notification.
  2. Enter all the necessary information including routing and account numbers and account type. Select "Continue" when finished.
  3. Verify with the last four digits of your SSN or ITIN.
  4. Select "Save." 

If you have entered a bank account in MyRED:

  1. Your previously provided bank account information will appear. Select "Update" or "Delete" depending on which action you’d like to take.
  2. If you want to use this bank account for direct deposit, no action is required.
