If you are experiencing financial distress due to an extenuating circumstance, additional funding may be available.
Consideration for emergency financial assistance may be available to students who meet the following criteria after speaking with a student services specialist in Husker Hub:
- Are experiencing an unexpected emergency or unforeseen educational cost,
- Are enrolled at least half-time status (6 credits for Undergraduates and Law students, 5 credits for Graduate and Professional students),
- Have accepted all other scholarship and financial aid options, including student loans, and
- Are in a good academic standing, including Satisfactory Academic Progress.
Typically, emergency financial assistance should be used to help pay for:
- Educational expenses for students with exceptional financial need,
- Transportation expenses related to a family emergency or other extenuating circumstances,
- Costs associated with meeting basic living expenses,
- Emergency healthcare expenses not covered by insurance, and/or
- Other expenses based on extenuating circumstances as determined by Husker Hub leadership.

Emergency aid shall be awarded only in accordance with federal and state rules and regulations. Considerations are also possible for students who owe a past due balance and would like to re-enroll. Contact Husker Hub for details.
