First-Year College Student

As a first-year college student you are a high school senior or have attempted fewer than 12 semester college credits since graduating from high school.

Apply for admission Complete the supplemental Scholarship Application Submit the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) Check MyRED regularly for notifications, messages and items in your To Do List.

Timeline

You will know 2-3 weeks after being accepted what merit-based scholarships you are eligible to receive.
After you submit the FAFSA, if you are selected for verification, you will be notified by mid-October
- You will receive an email to your huskers.unl.edu account listing the documents requested to submit
- These items will also be listed in your “To Do List” in MyRED
Your Consolidated Financial Aid Offer Letter will be sent to you through the mail in December. Typically, right before winter break starts.
May 1st – the Admissions Enrollment Deposit is Due

Current Undergraduate Student

Submit next year’s Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) Submit Scholarship Application for Current Undergraduate Students in MyRED. Check your To Do List in MyRED for any requested documents. Check MyRED regularly for notifications, messages and items in your To Do List.

Timeline

October 1st – Next Year’s FAFSA is available to submit.
After you submit the FAFSA, if you are selected for verification, you will be notified by mid-October.
- You will receive an email to your huskers.unl.edu account listing the documents requested to submit.
- These items will also be listed in your To Do List in MyRED.
- Mid-November the Scholarship Application for Current Undergraduate Students will be available in MyRED. Due Date February 1st.
Your Consolidated Financial Aid Offer Letter will be sent to you via email by mid-February.
- You can also view your financial aid offers in MyRED.
Mid – March Summer Financial Aid Application is available.
FAFSA Priority Date is May 1st.
Your Summer Consolidated Financial Aid Offer will be sent to you via email by mid- April.

Transfer Student
